This filly will race in West Virginia because she is a WV bred and the owner’s bonuses in WV are lucrative. WV has an owner’s bonus of up to 10% of earnings for every horse in every race that is WV bred. The mare, Winterlilly, is huge at 17.2 hands (Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, for example, is 16.2 hands high). The sire is Charitable Man. His progeny mostly race in the mid Atlantic and win at a respectable level (14%). Our WV based trainer, Ronney Brown, has trained several Charitable Man offspring and really likes them from an all-around perspective. We bought our filly from Condon Thoroughbreds in WV and she was transferred to Ronney Brown for on track training starting 6-13-16. If all goes well she could race by September of this year.
