OUR STORY
Taste of Victory Stables is a passion project for founding partners Kyle Yost and Brian Richardson.
Kyle first got into horse racing in 2004 when he claimed a horse named Mymommadonetoldme, who won 3 of his first 7 races for his new ownership. Yost continued to purchase horses following that success.
Brian got his start when he co-founded Cherry Hawk Stables in 2008. This partnership of 20 people each contributed $3,000 to purchase their first colt, Twenty Hawks. Twenty Hawks earned $338k and won one stakes race in his 69 starts.
A few years later, Kyle and Brian decided to partner up to combine their knowledge for even more success. Taste of Victory Stables was born from this partnership in 2015. Russ Sapienza joined the team later that year as a Senior Advisor to help in strategies for expansion and enhancing the co-owner experience.
Erin O'Keefe initially joined the Taste of Victory team in 2019 as the Director of Operations and now works as a Bloodstock Advisor.
KYLE YOST
East Coast Managing Partner
Kyle Yost grew up on a small farm in South Central Pennsylvania where his parents brokered livestock and raised horses. After graduating from Penn State University in 1990, Kyle moved to Washington DC to pursue a career in information technology sales and in the mid-nineties founded En-Net Services in Frederick, MD through a partnership with his brother.
BRIAN RICHARDSON
West Coast Managing Partner
Brian Richardson grew up in Huntington Beach, California, which is about 20 minutes from Los Alamitos Racetrack. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 1992. Brian owns and operates FiberCablesDirect, a supplier of fiber optic and copper cables based in Corona, California.
ERIN O'KEEFE
Bloodstock Advisor
Erin grew up in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan and followed her passion for Thoroughbreds to Lexington, KY to attend the University of Kentucky for Equine Science and Management. She has worked for several major Thoroughbred farms, including Taylor Made, Darby Dan, and Millennium Farms, as well as Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital. In addition to her position as Bloodstock Advisor, Erin is the farm manager of BTE Stables.
RUSS SAPIENZA
Senior Advisor
Russ is a retired senior partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Practice with 39 years of experience in the media, entertainment, sports, communications, and financial services industries. His clients have included The United States Tennis Association, the New York Mets, Caymanes Park (Jamaica WI), HBO, HULU, Warner Bros., Verizon, Turner, Fox, and many other well-known brands. His post-PwC ‘encore career’ will include advisory assignments at several major media and sports ventures as well as serving as an advisor to TOV Stables.
